     You’ve probably all heard that there’s more to Christmas than Santa, presents, and having time off from school. Hopefully you’ve also heard that Jesus is the reason for the season. Christmas and Easter are the two most important events in human history. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Easter celebrates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, the act that saved us from the penalty of our sins.

     This baby, baby Jesus was sent by God. His mother’s name was Mary. His Father was God Himself. This baby was the Son of God. Jesus’ birth is celebrated ALL over the world! Jesus came to give you a wonderful gift! Ask Jesus to come into your heart today and forgive you of all your sins! Your life will never be the same! Accept the wonderful gift He came to bring YOU! Give Him your life and He will give you eternal life.

We use soap for cleaning all kinds of things: hands, hair, clothes, dishes. Daily bathing with soap keeps dirt and body oils from clogging the pores of our skin. But remember everybody also needs spiritual cleansing. If we want God to forgive us and clean away our sins, we first have to confess them. That means, sincerely praying a one-sentence prayer: “I was wrong, and I’m sorry.” Then, because God’s Son, Jesus, has already died for our sins, God forgives us. That doesn’t seem like too big of a deal, but you’d be surprised at the number of people who refuse to come clean with God. Don’t be like them. Admit your dirt. Let Jesus’ soap scrub you clean and give you hope.

When you first tried to ride a bike or swim, it was a little scary, wasn’t it? Life is like that. Ask Joshua. When God told him to take over the Promised Land, he was a little scared. But instead of focusing on his fears, he focused on God. That is the secret. Josh knew his Bible and obeyed God’s laws. He trusted God to make him strong and give him courage. Then he watched God do mighty things through him, again and again. God will do the same for you. Say YES! to his laws—the recipes in his cookbook. It is the only way to have real success.
